Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations were conducted successfully all across Punjab in the month of March, 2022. The SSC exams were to be followed by all the other examinations, however, BISE Rawalpindi too conducted the 10th class examination in the month of March. BISE Rawalpindi provides various services via online platforms. It provides the registration of students, attestation of forms, issuance of NOCs, rechecking applications, affiliation logins for institutes and affiliated programs with an application tracking system. These all services are provided online to the clients of BISE Rawalpindi. However, the main functions of the board include the conduction of matriculation and intermediate examination along with conducting examination for all classical languages. In addition to that, the approval, refusal and withdrawing of recognition for the educational institutes, laying down the criterion for recognition of institutes and registration of students is also done by the board. Furthermore, it also awards scholarships to students, demands fees, promotes cultural and sports activities. Lastly, it also proposes any developmental work required or any changes in the Act.

The educational system in Pakistan is multifaceted as there are two different systems from where the education starts. Firstly, there is a Matriculation system and then there is a Cambridge system. Secondly, there are various private and public sector institutes. The public sector institutes only offer Matriculation studies, whereas, the private sector is quite diverse. Private sector schools are of three different types; offering the Matriculation system, offering the Cambridge system and then there are certain schools that offer both systems and leaves the decision of selection on the students. Once the years of secondary school and higher secondary school are completed, the higher education which is completed at various universities is quite similar.

The Matriculation system includes an examination conducted by various educational boards at the end of 9th and 10th grades respectively. The students passing successfully out of these examinations are progressed to the next level. After the matriculation, there are Intermediate classes, similarly, an examination is conducted at the end of 11th and 12th grades. Once a student reaches the attainment level of passing out of 12 grades successfully, he/she is eligible for taking admission at various Universities. On the other end, the Cambridge system has 13 grades which include ordinary level studies and advanced level studies termed as O levels and A levels. An examination is conducted by the international educational body on an annual basis. These examinations are conducted at the end of 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th grades respectively. After the successful passing out of these 13 grades, the Cambridge students to are eligible for university programs. The starting levels may be different but the last stage of the process completion is the same.
