University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore has publicized the conduct of entry tests for all Engineering and Engineering Technology Programs for all public sector institutions of Punjab. The entry tests will be considered for B. Sc Engineering and B. Sc Engineering Technology programs. Although, due to current situation of lockdown in the country, the entry tests will be conducted using the online resources of Virtual University. As entry tests are being conducted online for the very first time in the country, therefore, examiners have floated the idea of mock tests as well. Hence, the candidates are given the facility to first appear in the mock tests and then a week time has been given for the final entry test.
The eligibility criteria are also laid in detail within the advertisement posted under the name of UET, Lahore. There is no restriction on candidates for appearing in the entry tests but all the candidates must abide by the rules and regulations of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and University of Engineering and Technology (UET). The candidates appearing in the entry tests shall have intermediate education with either engineering background or physics and mathematics. The third subject shall be Computer Science or Statistics, whereas, students with foreign qualification of equivalent level can apply for the test as well. Candidates having their intermediate studies with medical background can also apply as per NCEAC’s new decision.
The process for appearing in the entry tests starts with acquiring a test token which is available at various designated branches of Habib Bank Limited (HBL). This test token will cost Rs. 1200/- only and these tokens will be available from 6th May till 1st June. Afterwards, an application form needs to be filled using the website of UET. The entry test will be of intermediate level with 4 subjects included in the test, the combinations available for the students are of four different types as detailed in the advertisement. In addition to that, candidates need to attach their recent passport size picture with the application as well. UET has advised the candidates to select a center which is close to their residence. The candidates that don’t have access to internet and system, they can fill in the applications by visiting any of the computer laboratories available for the said purpose.
The candidates need to keep all the important dates in mind as the last date for filing an application is 2nd June, 2020 and same is valid for printing the admit card which needs to be with the candidate at the time of entry test. Moreover, candidates are also required to provide with photo-id evidence in shape of CNIC or any other document of similar nature. The dates for the conduct of entry test are 13th and 14th June respectively.
